The US government will allow new electric vehicle (EV) buyers to receive a tax credit worth up to $7,500 (5 lakh) through ‘cash in hand’ options starting in January. Buyers will be given cash or a downpayment on the vehicle if they qualify for the credits. Dealers will also be able to track the progress through an online portal.
